Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Eight Two Eight Jewelry. By accessing our website or placing an order through our online store, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms are intended to clearly outline the rights, responsibilities, and policies governing your experience with us. Please read them carefully before purchasing or engaging with our services.
General Information
Eight Two Eight Jewelry is an independent jewelry brand based in Washington, D.C., specializing in handcrafted fine and demi-fine jewelry pieces. Each item is designed with care and intention, often made to order or produced in limited quantities. Our designs may include custom pieces or jewelry inspired by timeless styles, created to offer accessible elegance with quality craftsmanship.
By using our website and services, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all site visitors, customers, and all other users of the site.
Orders and Payment
All orders placed through Eight Two Eight Jewelry are subject to availability and final acceptance. Once submitted, orders are considered final and cannot be modified or canceled unless approved in writing. We accept all major forms of payment available at checkout. Prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD) and include applicable sales tax where required. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order at our discretion, including those suspected of fraud, containing errors in pricing or descriptions, or involving unavailable products.
Shipping and Delivery
We offer complimentary standard shipping for all domestic orders within the United States. For international orders, shipping is available at the customer’s expense. International buyers are responsible for any additional customs duties, taxes, or local fees incurred during delivery. While we make every effort to ship orders promptly, delivery times may vary depending on location, carrier conditions, and customs processing. Once an item has been marked “delivered” by the shipping provider, it is considered fulfilled, and Eight Two Eight Jewelry is no longer liable for lost or stolen packages.
Made-to-Order and Custom Jewelry
Many of our pieces are made to order and require a standard processing time of three to four weeks prior to shipping. We also accept custom requests on select items. Custom and personalized jewelry is made specifically to your specifications and is therefore non-refundable and non-exchangeable. We encourage all customers to confirm their order details, such as size, metal preference, and design notes prior to checkout. If you are interested in commissioning a custom piece, please contact us directly for availability and pricing.
Returns, Exchanges, and Store Credit
Due to the handcrafted and personalized nature of our jewelry, returns are limited and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Custom and made-to-order pieces are final sale and not eligible for return. We do offer exchanges in the form of store credit only, and only for sizing issues such as incorrect ring fit. To initiate an exchange or report an issue, customers must contact us within 48 hours of delivery with their order details and a brief explanation. Returned items must be in new, unworn condition and in their original packaging. We reserve the right to reject returns that show signs of wear or damage.
Repairs and Damage
We are pleased to offer repair services for our jewelry. Customers are responsible for the cost of repairs and any related shipping fees. If an item arrives damaged or defective, we ask that you contact us within 48 hours of delivery, providing photographic evidence. In such cases, we will cover the cost of repairs and return shipping. Damage resulting from wear and tear, improper care, or accidents is not covered, but we are happy to provide a repair estimate if needed.
Product Descriptions and Variations
We strive to represent our jewelry as accurately as possible in photographs and descriptions. However, due to the artisanal nature of our pieces, slight variations in color, texture, and shape may occur. These are natural characteristics of handcrafted items and are not considered defects. We believe these subtle differences add to the uniqueness of every piece.
Pricing Policy
Prices displayed on the website reflect our current rates and are subject to change without notice. Because material and production costs fluctuate, pricing may vary over time. If you have questions about a previous price or want to confirm the most up-to-date cost of a particular item, we encourage you to contact us directly or use the “Inquire Now” button found on each product page.
Privacy and Data Use
Eight Two Eight Jewelry collects customer information solely for the purposes of processing orders, fulfilling shipments, and providing customer service. We respect your privacy and will never sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. By using our website, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer of Liability
While we carefully select the materials used in our jewelry, we are not responsible for allergic reactions or sensitivities. Customers should review materials before ordering, especially if they have known metal allergies. Eight Two Eight Jewelry is not liable for damage caused by misuse, improper care, or general wear and tear. We recommend following our Jewelry Care Guide to help preserve the beauty and integrity of your pieces.
